Tight security arangements for last Indo-Lanka ODI
Visakhapatnam, Feb 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Regional Inspector General B L Meena today said tight security arrangements had been made for the fourth one-day ODI India vs Sri Lanka match to be played at the ACA-VDCA stadium here on February 17.
Addressing media here, he said over 1800 police personnel had been deployed to cover the stay of the team at Hotel Taj, besides the match. They included eight bomb disposal squads.
A control room had been set up in the stadium premises. Frame door metal detectors would be used to check spectators.
Vizag Range Deputy Inspector General of Police Govind Singh and District Superintendent of Police J G Murali said traffic and parking arrangements would be done by eight platoons of armed reserve force and seven dog squads.
Over 100 signboards had been placed to guide people.
Forces from East and West Godavari, Krishna, Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts had been drafted.
Both teams arrived this afternoon apart from Sachin Tendulkar.
