TMDA contest comes to Mumbai from Dec 21-23

Mumbai, Dec 20 (UNI) PDM International and 7 Figures Management today announced a unique talent hunt show ''The Million Dollar Arm (TMDA)'' to be held here from December 21-23.

''The Million Dollar Arm (TMDA)'' is a hunt for all sports enthusiasts and young men to effectively pitch and pursue an international career in baseball in USA and attain a world wide recognition and fame.

It's a nation wide initiative to identify, groom and mentor the most powerful arm and introduce him to the professional world of Baseball internationally. The hunt commenced its glorious round in Chandigarh on December 4.

Mumbaikars can try their hands in pitching at the baseball cage which will travel from Azad Maidan to Thakur Stadium at Thakur Village at Kandivali East, Shivaji Park and Mulund Gymkhana in Mulund (East) from 1000 hrs to 1730 hrs everyday, a release issued here today stated.

The main objective is to search for promising pitchers across the country through a dedicated multi-city hunt. The final winner will get an opportunity to train in the US for up to 12 months under the supervision of international trainers and scouts so that they learn the art of competitive pitching before going for trials with American Professional Baseball teams in the US and an opportunity to earn major fortune through an international career, the release added.

''The Million Dollar Arm'' talent hunt will have two baseball cages specially designed for the hunt traveling to 12 cities simultaneously. The shuttle has been broadly classified into zone one (north and east) and zone two (south and west) categories covering major metros and mini metros. Through a series of promotion rounds, both the cages will complete the entire journey by mid January 2008 followed with qualifying rounds held in major metros starting from first week of February 2008.

Each contestant will have to throw at a minimum speed of 60 mph or more in the first phase during the elimination rounds. In the qualifying rounds, the qualifiers will have to throw at a minimum speed of 80 mph.

The winner of the finals will be a contestant, who throws the most strikes of all finalists out of 10 chance with a speed of at least 90+ mph. For this win the winner will get a guaranteed prize money of USD 50,000, the release added.
