TN Govt appoints Ranjith Kumar as athletics coach

Chennai, Oct 10 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Government has appointed differently abled athlete and Commonwealth bronze medallist J Ranjith Kumar as the athletics coach in Madurai district.

This followed an appeal made by him to Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, while receiving the cash incentive of Rs 10 lakh on October 5.

An official release here said considering the appeal and to utilise his expertise and experience to develop sportspersons, Kumar was engaged as a coach on contract basis.

He would train the differently abled sportspersons.

The copy of the contract agreement was also presented to him by Sports Minister T P M Moideen Khan today.
