Chennai, Aug 31: Ravichandran Ashwin returned from the Caribbean tour, shrugged off jet lag and led his team Dindigul Dragons to a 48-run victory over Ruby Kanchi Warriors in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) Twenty20 tournament here yesterday (August 30).
Ashwin made his TNPL debut on Tuesday after returning home from United States of America (USA) where India competed against West Indies in a 2-match Twenty20 Internationals. Before that India won the 4-Test series on the Caribbean islands 2-0.

Dragons posted 159/7 in 20 overs and later restricted Warriors to 111/9 in 20 overs. Captain Ashwin took 1 wicket for 6 runs in his 2 overs while his namesake M Ashwin had two scalps.
Jagadeesan was the top scorer for the Dragons with a 40-ball 44. Ashwin scored 15 off 15. For Warriors, R Jesuraj and AC Prathiban took 2 wickets apiece.
After the match, offspinner Guru Kedarnath praised Ashwin's captaincy, calling him "brilliant".
"I have played with him in junior cricket and it is nice to have a senior pro in the team. He was very dynamic and it was a good experience. He was brilliant," Kedarnath said.
