Travis Head became the new number one ranked T20I batter in the world, replacing India's Suryakumar Yadav at the top of the chart on Wednesday, June 26. The Australian left-hand batter smashed 76 runs and gave India a major scare in his side's Super 8 match in the T20 World Cup 2024 on Monday.
Suryakumar Yadav, who has hit two fifties for India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, has been the top-ranked men’s batter in the T20I format since December 2023. In the latest ICC rankings for T20I batters, Travis Head is two points ahead of Suryakumar Yadav (842).

Travis Head has jumped four places to the numero uno position, with Suryakumar, Phil Salt, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan all dropping down a place to make up the remainder of the top five.
England captain Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Aiden Markram and Brandon King are static at sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth spots respectively. West Indies' Johnson Charles has jumped four places to break into the top 10.
Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz has also jumped five places following his superb run in the T20 World Cup 2024 and is sitting on the 11th spot. Gurbaz has top-scored for Afghanistan in their last two matches against Australia and Bangladesh. The knocks played a huge role in helping Afghanistan qualify for the semi-finals.
