Pace duo Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson return to the New Zealand ODI squad for the upcoming tour to England, where the Black Caps will play a five-match ODI series against the world champions as part of their preparations for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
Boult, who had given up on his central contract last year to focus on franchise cricket and spend time with his family, will be back in the national team set up for the first time since November 2022 and in the first ODI assignment since September 2022.

Jamieson, on the other hand, will be making his New Zealand comeback after over a year, having last played for the Black Caps during their Test series in England last year in June. His last ODI appearance came back in April 2022.
Meanwhile, captain Kane Williamson, all-rounders Michael Bracewell and Jimmy Neesham as well as batter Mark Chapman will miss the ODI series. Bracewell remains sidelined as he recovers from Achilles injury, while Chapman and Neesham will be in New Zealand as they await the births of their first children.
Williamson, however, will join up with his teammates in England to continue his rehabilitation from a knee injury picked up earlier this year. Tom Latham will continue in his role as ODI captain.
The ODI series in England will be New Zealand's second last prior to the World Cup - the team is also scheduled to play Bangladesh in September, when they will play three more ODIs. Here is a look at the New Zealand ODI squad for England tour along with the schedule.
