Twitterati hail 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle for completing 10,000 runs in T20

Rajkot, April 18: 'Universe Boss' Chris Gayle scripted history at the SCA stadium in Rajkot as he became the first player to complete 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. [Gayle completes 10,000 runs in T20s]

Gayle came into the match with just 3 runs needed to complete the feat and he did it in the fourth over of the match off Gujarat Lions' Basil Thampi's delivery.

Gayle was dismissed in the 13th over after he scored 77 runs off just 38 balls. He along with captain Virat Kohli guided RCB's score to 213 runs in 20 overs.

The West Indian did not start the tournament on a high this season, as he managed to score only 60 runs in the first three matches.

He was also dropped from the starting XI against Rising Pune Supergiant, which they lost due to poor form. But the man came back strongly and played a brilliant knock.

As Gayle creates the world record, fans and celebrities around the world took Twitter to congratulate him.
