ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup has been staged since 1988 and is being held once in two years since the 1998 edition. The show-piece tournament that started as a 8-team tournament has expanded to a 16-team tournament since the second edition.
While the first edition was staged back in 1988, the next World Cup was only held ten years later in 1998. The tournament, which has been staged across cricketing nations, has produced some gems in every edition.

The 1988 edition saw the likes of Brian Lara, Sanath Jayasuriya and Inzamam-ul-Haq among many become key players in their respective senior national teams across formats. Even the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle are some of the players to emerge from the U19 World Cup.
In the 15 editions of the ICC Under-19 Men's World Cup, only seven of the 31 teams that have competed in the show-piece event have gone all the way to lift the title. Here is a look at the most successful sides and the all-time winners list:
Australia, who won the inaugural edition in 1988, have won the U19 World Cup four times, while Pakistan has won the title twice. But the most successful side is India, who have won the ICC U19 Men's World Cup a record five times.
The Indian side has also reached the finals most, having finished as runners up in four editions, in the process reaching nine finals. Australia also have finished runners up in two editions, while New Zealand and Sri Lanka are the only sides to not win the tournament despite reaching the finals once each.
Apart from India, Australia and Pakistan, England, South Africa, West Indies and Bangladesh have also managed to win one title each in the ICC U19 Men's World Cup history so far. Here is a look at the finals of every edition - U19 World Cup winners list:
