Umar Akmal threatens to leak dirty secrets of Pakistan cricketers: Don't force me, it will hurt your families

Umar Akmal has threatened to reveal the dirty secrets of his senior Pakistan players if they don't stop putting allegations against him and calling him "immature". In an interview on a YouTube podcast, Umar, the brother of Kamran Akmal, said his revelations will hurt even the families of his seniors.

He has also added that he was stopping himself from revealing the "shocking cricket" because of the love people of Pakistan have for cricket. The 32-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has stated that people will stop watching cricket if the secrets come out in the open.

"Mostly cricketers say that I am not mature. And these cricketers are the ones who I played cricket with. They are my seniors and I really respect them," Akmal said.

"I would like to say 'don't force me to reveal your secrets'. I have shocking secrets of players and if I reveal them, it will hurt their families too.

"Our people are too innocent and love watching cricket. I just respect that and don't reveal the secrets I have. If these secrets are revealed, people will stop watching cricket," he added.

Akmal has represented Pakistan in 16 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 84 T20Is. His last international appearance came back in October 2019 in a T20I match against Sri Lanka. He was recently seen playing in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 for Quetta Gladiators.

He scored 95 runs in five innings at an average of 23.75 and a strike rate of 186.27. His elder brother Kamran - former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter - had recently suggested PCB and captain Babar Azam to keep aside "personal agenda" while selecting Pakistan squad. He had said that Umar deserved a Pakistan comeback.

Further, Umar also replied to the question regarding his viral dancing videos. He asserted that he has all the right in the world to enjoy in family functions.

"I only want to ask one question from you. Did you ever dance at your sibling's wedding?" he responded to the host. "If people cannot enjoy their siblings' weddings, where would they be dancing? outside? I have the freedom to enjoy my life. No one needs to say anything about it," Umar said.
