Umar Gul advises Pakistan speedster to 'continue bowl fast'

Former Pakistan pacer Umar Gul was one of the most decorated bowlers during his playing days. The Pakistani pacer had a terrific blend of pace and accuracy which used to trouble the batters.

And the player has recently revealed that he has advised one of the young sensations of Pakistan cricket to keep bowling fast.

Fast bowling is a major weapon for Pakistan and there have been plenty of world-beating pacers who have emerged in Pakistan. And the latest to the list is Ihsanullah.

Ihsanullah is one of the biggest prospects for Pakistan who shone in the Pakistan Super League this year. The 20-year-old troubled batters with his raw pace and picked up 22 wickets in just 12 matches for Multan Sultans, this finishing as the 2nd highest wicket taker of the season.

And Umar Gul says that he has advised Ihsanullah to never compromise his pace.

"I told Ihsanullah to stick with his skill and continue bowling at hard lengths and bowl fast," Gul was quoted as saying to Pitch Side by Cricwick.

Ihsanullah's excellent performance in the PSL 2023 earned him a maiden Pakistan cap and the pacer played in the T20I series against Afghanistan and New Zealand recently. But the pacer hasn't made the cut to the upcoming Afghanistan ODIs or the Asia Cup which starts later this month.

The 20-year-old pacer has picked up 6 wickets in 4 T20I matches so far, with his best figures being 3/29.
