Umesh Yadav's father's Tilak passed away aged 74 in Nagpur on Wednesday. Tilak Yadav was reportedly ill for quite some time. The reports have added that last rites were performed on Thursday.
Umesh's father was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Nagpur. With no visible improvement in his health, the family after discussions with doctors brought him home where he breathed his last breath. He was a retired employee of WCL at Valni Coal Mine. He was a wrestling fan and is survived by sons Ramesh, Kamalesh and Umesh.
The players of the Indian team have been given a mini-break after the early completion of the second Test match in Delhi. Notably, India took a 2-0 lead after winning the Delhi Test by six wickets inside three days. Most of the players have travelled back home after the win.
Umesh hasn't yet featured in any of the two matches with India opting to go with Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj as their two pacer. The nature of the tracks and subcontinent conditions have seen Team Indian preferring three spinners and two pacers.
The 35-year-old pacer has featured in 53 Test matches since making his debut in 2011. He played his last Test match against Bangladesh in Mirpur in December. The 53 Test matches have seen him pick 165 wickets at an average of 30.20.

Also, the Vidarbha cricketer has played 75 ODIs and nine T20Is, picking up 106 and 12 wickets respectively. His last white-ball match came against West Indies in 2018.
The third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled to start from March 1 in Indore and it's unclear if the pacer would join the squad by then. The Indian team has been reportedly asked to report in Indore on February 25. The fourth and final Test will be played in Ahmedabad from March 9.
