Jammu and Kashmir administrator Majid Dar has opened up on the availability of Umran Malik in the upcoming Indian Premier League season.
Umran Malik, who rose to the ranks with his electric pace, has been out of action for some time now.

Umran hasn't featured for Jammu and Kashmir all season. He missed out on Ranji Trophy primary phase and was left out of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare squads as well.
Amid this, there have been concerns about the player's availability in the IPL 2025 season. Defending Champions KKR signed him at his base price and the Knight Riders may ponder on his fitness issue ahead of the season. But J&K's current administrator Majid Dar has revealed the reasons behind Umran's absence and assures that the pace star will be in action in the IPL.
In an exclusive interview with MyKhel, Majid Dar said that the Indian pacer has undergone rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru and will be in much better shape in the IPL 2025.
"It is very unfortunate [that Umran Malik hasn't played] but he had an injury. So he is working on it and we shall see him in IPL. This year he is going to be in much better shape."
"He was in rehab at National Cricket Academy and he is under continuous observation of BCCI. The Board is taking care of him and as he becomes fit, you will see him in IPL playing for KKR at his best," Dar added.
Apart from Umran, various other Jammu and Kashmir players will be playing in the IPL this season. Rasikh Salam Dar was the most expensive uncapped player in the auction as he was bought by RCB for Rs 6 crore, while the likes of Abdul Samad (Lucknow Super Giants), Yudhvir Charak (Rajasthan Royals) are set to feature as well.
