Unsold at WPL Auction, Tanisha Singh Powers Delhi to Record-Breaking 262 in Senior Women's T20 Trophy

Delhi produced a historic batting performance in the Senior Women's T20 Trophy, registering a record-breaking 262 for 6 against Hyderabad in Pune.

The total is the highest ever by a women's team in domestic T20 cricket, surpassing Goa's 257 for 2 against Arunachal Pradesh during the 2019-20 season, and Tanisha Singh played the most pivotal part in it.

The innings was headlined by opener Tanisha Singh, who delivered a stunning 119 off just 47 deliveries. Her century came in 38 balls, making it the joint third-fastest hundred in women's T20 cricket, alongside Deandra Dottin's effort against South Africa in 2010. Only Kiran Navgire, with a 34-ball century, and Sophie Devine, with a 36-ball hundred, have reached the milestone faster.

Tanisha, Punia Lead Delhi's Batting Blitz

Tanisha struck 25 fours and one six despite losing opening partner Vanshika Lila early. She then combined with India international Priya Punia to transform the innings, with their 160-run partnership coming off just 66 balls.

Punia contributed 59 from 28 deliveries, while Shweta Sehrawat provided further acceleration with a rapid 26 off eight balls, including three sixes. Contributions from Nazma Khan, Deeksha Sharma and captain Soni Yadav helped Delhi cross the 260-run mark.

Tanisha was unsold in WPL Auction

Tanisha went unsold in the WPL auction a day before. The Delhi batter found no teams in the auction but a day after the event in Kochi, she found the sweetest spot of her bat and played a tremendous knock.

Hyderabad Fall Well Short in Chase

Hyderabad finished at 154 for 8, losing by 108 runs despite opener G Trisha's 80 off 52 balls. Captain Pranavi Chandra was the only other batter to cross 20, as Delhi secured a commanding victory. Delhi's total also ranks among the 11 highest scores in women's T20 cricket overall, a list dominated by international T20 matches.
