WC win: Raina & Chawla to get UP's Kanshiram Sports Awards

Lucknow, Apr 3: After the historic World Cup victory, it's the time to felicitate our heroes. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati announced government's plan to honour Indian players Suresh Raina and Piyush Chawla, who hail from the state, with Kanshiram International Sports award.
"By helping the Indian team in reaching the final match and making important contributions in winning the World Cup, these two players have done the state proud," CM Mayawati said.
Mayawati said that the awards will give inspiration to other players to achieve more for India. Earlier, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi declared Eklavya Award to Yusuf Pathan and Munaf Patel. Eklavya Award is the highest sports award in Gujarat.
"It's our proud privilege to honour the two Sons of Gujarat Yusuf Pathan & Munaf Patel with - Eklavya Award," Narendra Modi tweeted in his Twitter account.
Meanwhile, Delhi government announced Rs 2 crore reward for Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rs 1 crore each to the Delhi boys - Virendra Sehwag, Gautan Ganbhir, Virat Kohli and Ashish Nehra.
