Who won yesterday's WPL Match: Meg Lanning and all-round Annabel Sutherland starred as Delhi Capitals (DC) got back to winning ways in Women’s Premier League season 3 with a nail-biting 7-wicket victory over UP Warriorz (UPW) in Vadodara on Wednesday (February 19).
Put into bat, UP Warriorz rode on knocks from Kiran Navgire, Shweta Sehrawat and Chinelle Henry to set a total of 166/7 in their allotted 20 overs at the Kotambi Stadium.

In response, Lanning and Shafali Verma got off the blocks quickly to provide a good start for Delhi Capitals with a 65-run stand before unbeaten knocks from Sutherland and Marizanne Kapp sealed the win with 1 ball to spare.
This was the last match of the Vadodara leg before action shifts to Bengaluru from Friday (February 21). At the end of the Vadodara leg, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are sitting pretty at the top with four points as the winless UPW are bottom-placed.
DC-W all-rounder Annabel Sutherland bagged the player of the match award for her all-round display – the Australian’s figures of 2 for 26 in 4 overs helped restrict UP Warriorz to a chase-able total before seeing Delhi Capitals home with an unbeaten 41 off 25 balls.
Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning top-scored on the night with 69 off 49 balls. UPW batter Kiran Navgire (51 off 27 balls) was the next highest run-getter in yesterday’s match.
Delhi Capitals-Women all-rounder Annabel Sutherland was the top wicket-taker of the match with figures of 2 for 26 in her 4 overs, while some of the other bowlers – four from DC and three from UPW, in the match chipped in with a wicket each.
