Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Latest IPL Reward Is Worth ₹25 Lakh But It's Off-Limits Until 2029
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's latest reward is a brand-new car, but at just 15 years old, the cricket sensation is still years away from legally driving it himself.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's dream run continued after IPL 2026, where the Rajasthan Royals star was rewarded with a new car for winning the Super Striker of the Season award. The prize added another chapter to what has already become one of the most remarkable rises in Indian cricket.

The youngest Orange Cap winner has collected major individual honours, cash rewards and multiple luxury vehicles in a short span of time. His latest reward has also raised an interesting question among fans: what happens when a minor wins a car? While the answer lies in India's vehicle ownership rules, the bigger story is how Vaibhav's performances have made him one of the most celebrated young cricketers in the country.
The Award-Winning IPL 2026 Season
Sooryavanshi's latest car, the Tata Sierra, an SUV worth approx ₹25 Lakh, was awarded to him after a historic IPL 2026 campaign. According to tournament records, the teenager became the first player to win five major individual awards in a single IPL season.
His honours included the Orange Cap for scoring 776 runs, the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, Emerging Player of the Season, Super Striker of the Season and Super Sixes of the Season after hitting a record 72 sixes. The Super Striker award, which recognises the batter with the best strike rate, earned him a new car from IPL title sponsor Tata Motors.
These numbers explain why Vaibhav was not just one of the season's best young players, but arguably its standout performer.
Not His First Car: The Vehicles Already Linked to Sooryavanshi
The latest prize vehicle is not the first car associated with the teenage batter.
Vaibhav had earlier received a Tata Curvv after winning the Super Striker of the Season award in IPL 2025. Reports also stated that Rajasthan Royals owner Ranjit Barthakur gifted him a Mercedes-Benz in 2025, allegedly a GLE 300d, after his stunning 35-ball century against the Gujarat Titans, which made him the youngest centurion in IPL history.
The latest Tata reward, therefore, adds to a growing list of vehicles linked to the youngster's rapid rise in the sport.
Can a 15-Year-Old Legally Own a Car?
The unusual situation even prompted a joke from veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle, who said during the award presentation, "He can't even drive the car he just received!"
While Vaibhav cannot legally drive until he turns 18, ownership is a different matter. Speaking to Local18 Hindi, Darbhanga Additional Transport Officer Upendra Rao explained,
"If all necessary documents like PAN card, Aadhaar, and proof of address are in place, a vehicle can be registered even in the name of a minor."
However, a minor cannot legally drive a vehicle. For now, Vaibhav may not be old enough to drive the cars he wins, but his performances continue to drive his remarkable rise in world cricket.
