Vaibhav Sooryavanshi T20I Debut: How Many Sixes IPL Teen Sensation Hit & Runs Scored in His Maiden India Knock?
New Delhi: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's much-awaited India debut finally arrived in the second T20I against England at Emirates Old Trafford on Saturday, and while his stay at the crease lasted only 10 deliveries, the 15-year-old offered a glimpse of why he is regarded as one of Indian cricket's brightest young talents.
The teenage left-hander, who became the youngest player to represent India in international cricket at 15 years and 99 days, played with the same fearless approach that earned him recognition during the IPL. Although his innings ended on 14, Sooryavanshi showed little hesitation in taking on England's pace attack, underlining the attacking mindset that has defined his rise through the ranks.

Nervous Start Before Finding His Rhythm
Handed his maiden international cap by Tilak Varma before the match, Sooryavanshi walked out to open the innings alongside Abhishek Sharma. England handed the new ball to debutant Josh Tongue, who immediately tested the youngster with short-pitched bowling.
The left-hander initially looked eager rather than settled. He swung and missed at the first delivery before again failing to connect with another attempted hook shot. After a wide from Tongue, Sooryavanshi finally opened his international account with a single that came off a thick inside edge, a moment that officially marked the beginning of his international career.
Two Sixes Showcase Fearless Intent
If there were any nerves, they disappeared quickly once Sooryavanshi decided to counterattack. Facing his Rajasthan Royals teammate Jofra Archer, the youngster announced himself in style by getting down on one knee and lofting a length delivery over the wicketkeeper for his first international six.
He wasn't done there. When Tongue returned for another over, Sooryavanshi pounced on a slower delivery in the slot and dispatched it high over the midwicket boundary for his second six of the innings. Both maximums highlighted the fearless stroke-making that made him one of the most exciting young batters during the IPL.
However, after the early fireworks, England adjusted their plans. While Abhishek Sharma dominated from the other end, Sooryavanshi had to wait several deliveries before facing another ball.

Will Jacks Outfox Sooryavanshi
His innings ultimately ended against off-spinner Will Jacks, providing the teenager with an early lesson in international cricket. Looking to continue his attacking approach, Sooryavanshi charged down the pitch in an attempt to clear the infield but was beaten by Jacks' flat delivery outside off stump. Wicketkeeper Jos Buttler completed a straightforward stumping to bring the youngster's innings to an end.
Sooryavanshi finished with 14 runs off 10 deliveries, striking two sixes at an impressive strike rate of 140.00. Although his debut was brief, his willingness to attack England's quickest bowlers rather than retreat into his shell stood out as the biggest takeaway.
For a player making his international debut at just 15 years of age, the innings represented more than the numbers on the scoreboard. It offered evidence of his confidence, natural ball-striking ability, and fearless mindset. While there will undoubtedly be technical lessons to absorb, particularly against spin-his first appearance suggested Indian cricket may have unearthed another exciting batting prospect capable of entertaining fans for years to come.
