Teenager Vaibhav Suryavanshi expressed his admiration for Shubman Gill's ability to remain composed after scoring a century. Suryavanshi aims to replicate the Indian Test captain's approach in future games. During India U-19s fourth match against England in Worcester, he scored a remarkable 143 off 78 balls, becoming the fastest and youngest player to hit a century in Youth ODIs.
The young cricketer was inspired by Gill's performance in the ongoing Birmingham Test, where Gill scored 269 and 161, overwhelming England with runs. "I got a lot of inspiration from him Gill because I saw the game. After making 100 and 200, he didn't leave the game and took the team ahead," Suryavanshi stated in a video shared by BCCI on its X account.

Suryavanshi aims to score 200 in his next match and plans to play all fifty overs. He believes that more runs will benefit his team. "I will try to make 200 in the next match. Next time, I will try to play full fifty overs. The more I make runs, the better it will be for my team," he mentioned.
Reflecting on his recent performance, Suryavanshi noted that he could have extended his innings if he had been more cautious. He was dismissed in the 28th over after a partnership of 219 runs with Vihan Malhotra. "I could have batted a bit longer because I had a lot of time. After that his dismissal, there were 20 overs left. So, I could have made it longer," he explained.
The left-handed batter acknowledged that his dismissal was due to not giving his best effort on a particular shot. "There was a shot that he got out that I couldn't give my 100%, that's why I couldn't do it," he admitted.
Despite this, Suryavanshi was unaware of the records he set until informed by team manager Ankit Sir upon returning to the dressing room. "I didn't know that I had created a record after making 100. Our team manager Ankit sir told me that I have created a record. Everyone congratulated me," he said.
Suryavanshi expressed happiness about contributing positively to his team and looked forward to sharing his success with family and friends. "I am happy that I have done something good for the team. I will talk to my family and friends," he noted.
