Indian cricketer Venkatesh Iyer has recently announced his engagement to Shruti Raghunathan, sharing delightful photos of the couple on Instagram. In the pictures, they gaze into each other's eyes, with Venkatesh donning a light green kurta and Shruti choosing a printed saree for the special occasion.

The Instagram post was captioned by Venkatesh, saying, "On to the next chapter of my life - engaged." Congratulatory messages poured in from fellow cricketers like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Mandeep Singh.

Who is Shruti Raghunathan?

While not much is known about Shruti, who maintains a private Instagram account, reports indicate that she holds a B.com degree from PSG College of Arts and Science and a Master's degree in Fashion Management from NIFT, India. Currently, she works as a Merchandise Planner at Lifestyle International Private Limited in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The left-handed batter and right-arm medium pace bowling all-rounder, Venkatesh Iyer, is known for his role with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has an impressive track record, amassing 956 runs in 36 matches, including one century and seven fifties.

In 2023 alone, he scored 404 runs in 14 games, likely securing his retention by the Kolkata-based franchise for the upcoming IPL 2024 auction in Dubai on December 19.

On the international stage, Venkatesh has played two ODIs and nine T20Is, with his last appearance for India against Sri Lanka in February 2022. The 28-year-old cricketer, hailing from Madhya Pradesh, is set to participate in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy following his recent action in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he accumulated 122 runs in five matches at an impressive average of 61, with his last three scores reading 43, 29, and 35.
