During the opening match of The Hundred 2025 between London Spirit and Oval Invincibles at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground, the game experienced a surprising and entertaining interruption - a wild fox sprinted across the field, halting play momentarily and delighting fans and commentators alike.
The unexpected intrusion happened during the Invincibles' run chase, precisely as London Spirit pacer Daniel Worrall was about to bowl the next delivery.

The small, swift fox darted across the pitch, prompting amusement from the crowd and commentators Eoin Morgan and Stuart Broad, who joked about how to safely escort the animal off the field without causing disruption.
"The fox is charging across the outfield. He is a fit fox as well, just about to turn the corner and find his way out. This is a first at the home of cricket," Eoin Morgan said while commentating for the match.
The spectators at Lord's cheered and laughed as the fox made its brief sprint, quickly becoming a crowd favorite before it exited the playing area. This rare pitch invasion went viral on social media, capturing cricket lovers worldwide with a light-hearted moment amid a high-stakes match.
Beyond this amusing interruption, the match saw a dominant performance from the Oval Invincibles. London Spirit captain Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to bat first, but the decision backfired as their top order collapsed early. Rashid Khan and Sam Curran starred with the ball, each taking three wickets and bowling the Spirit out for just 80 runs in 94 balls. The Invincibles then chased down the target comfortably, with captain Sam Billings and Donovan Ferreira guiding their team to a six-wicket victory with 31 balls to spare.
