Former Indian cricketer Vinod Kambli has been discharged from Akruti Health City Hospital on New Year's Eve following treatment for serious health complications.
Kambli's hospitalization was due to a urinary infection and muscle cramps, with doctors later discovering brain clots contributing to his condition.

The cricket community had been concerned after recent footage showed Kambli in a disturbing state at a Mumbai event, appearing to face both mental and physical challenges.
During his hospital stay, Kambli's spirited nature showed through as videos of him dancing in the hospital ward went viral, bringing cheer to both staff and patients. Kambli was seen in good spirits as he got discharged from hospital. The former India player was seen wearing an India jersey with a bat in his hand, and thanked the doctors for making him fit and agile.
"This doctor (Dr. Shailesh Thakur) made me fit and I had stated that I would come back only when I am fit. I will show people in Shivaji Park that I, Vinod Kambli will not leave cricket. These guys (at the hospital) gave me good cricket practice. I 'hit' only fours and sixes," Kambli was quoted as saying by Times of India.
Maharashtra's political leadership has stepped forward to support Kambli's recovery. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and his son, MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde, have offered crucial assistance through their foundation. The Shrikant Shinde Foundation has committed ₹5 lakh for Kambli's medical expenses, with assurances of additional support if needed. Kambli has expressed deep gratitude for this timely intervention and looks forward to personally thanking the Deputy CM during a visit from the Shinde family.
