By MyKhel Staff

Australia's captain Pat Cummins praised Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli on Monday (January 29), calling the Indian players "super consistent". Speaking to the ICC, Cummins praised Kohli and Jadeja, noting that the two Indian cricketers consistently manage to rescue their side from difficult circumstances.

"Kohli and Jadeja are super consistent, you can't keep them out of it, they find a way to drag their team out of trouble & win it, to be alongside those guys has been special," said Pat Cummins.

After being named the ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year, the Australian captain declared that 2023 would be a historic year for the squad. Regarding the particular honour, he continued, it was a great honour.

"It is a huge honour, it is been a big year with lots of wonderful team success and to get this individual honour is huge. We are a team sport where you play for kind of team wins and you're going after tournaments and trophies together. In terms of an individual accolade, it's right up there," he added.

Australia's skipper, Cummins, who won the World Cup, accepted the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy as the 2023 ICC Men's Cricketer of the Year earlier on Thursday. For Cummins, 2023 was an incredible year filled with victories and records. He lifted the ICC World Test Championship trophy, kept the Ashes, and won a record-breaking sixth World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) declared that Kohli had withdrawn from the first two Test matches against England for personal reasons.
Following his hamstring injury in the first Test match against England, BCCI announced that Jadeja would not be playing in the second Test match against England.

Earlier on Monday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul have been ruled out of the second Test match against England due to injuries. Virat Kohli has been named as one of the replacements.
