
New Delhi, February 19: Star India batter Virat Kohli on Sunday (February 19) created yet another record as he became the fastest to score 25000 runs in international cricket.
Kohli, who achieved the feat during the second Test against Australia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, left behind legends of the game Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting to create the unique record.
The former India skipper Kohli reached the lanmark in style by hitting a boundary off Nathan Lyon. He achieved the milestone in just 31313 balls and 549 innings. The record was previously held by Indian icon Tendulkar, who had reached 25000 runs in 579 innings.
The 34-year-old has scored 12809 runs in One Day Internationals (ODI), 8195 runs in Tests and 4008 runs in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I). He is also the sixth player to reach the 25000-run mark on international stage.

The star Indian batter is also second in the list for most hundreds in international cricket, having scored 74 centuries across the three formats. He is only behind compatriot and legend Tendulkar, who has 100 hundreds to his name.
