
Virat Kohli scored his 28th Test century against Australia on Sunday (March 12) in the final Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Kohli's patient knock epitomized his class as the batter finally broke his long wait for a Test century with the gritty inning. His inning didn't have the aura of a Virat Kohli batting masterclass, but the fight, resilience and determination depicted the different side of his game.

Virat Kohli ended a wait of 1205 days to get a Test hundred. His previous Test ton came against Bangladesh back in 2019, when he scored 136 runs at the Eden Gardens in a pink-ball Test match. And in between that, the Indian batter failed to get any three-figure scores.
In these last three years up to the 4th Test in Ahmedabad against Australia, Virat Kohli's highest score was 79, which came against South Africa in Cape Town last year. Kohli also went without a Test century for 41 innings prior to the current one in Ahmedabad.
