Virat Kohli best batter in world, but Rohit Sharma most dangerous: Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami has praised Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma - two of India's all time greats. Shami has called Virat Kohli the best batter in the world, while Shami according to him is 'most dangerous'.

Shami said that Virat Kohli is the best in the world and that is why he has broken a plethora of records. The star batter also broke Sachin Tendulkar's record for most ODI hundreds during the World Cup 2023. He smashed his 50th hundred against New Zealand in the semi-final at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

“Virat Kohli is the best batsman in the world. He has just broken a lot of records. I feel Virat is the best but if you ask me who the most dangerous batter in the world is, I would say Rohit Sharma,” Shami said in an interaction with News18.

However, when asked about the better captain between Rohit and Kohli, Shami opted to choose MS Dhoni. Shami stated that no captain in India has achieved what Dhoni achieved during his stint.

“It’s different for everyone. Everything comes down to comparison. Obviously you will go with the person who is most successful. So, I’ll go with Mahendra Singh Dhoni because whatever he has achieved, no one has been able to eclipse that.”

Shami is out of action due to an ankle injury. He was named in the India Test squad for South Africa, but could not recover on time. Later, he was not considered for the first two Test matches against England. The squad for the remaining three Tests is yet to be announced.
