Virat Kohli's Birthday: India and South Africa will take on each other in the World Cup 2023 at the Mecca of Indian cricket, the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The iconic stadium will host the important clash between the two giants of world cricket.

Kohli turning 35 will not just be a cake-cutting ceremony, as the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is preparing a special ceremony on the day. According to reports, there will be a special laser show for Kohli along with fireworks before the start of the match. CAB will also distribute 70,000 face masks of Kohli to the attending fans.

"We have ordered a cake for Virat, and the design will be something everyone identifies with Virat Kohli," CAB President Snehasish Ganguly told RevSportz.

"I am not sharing the pictures yet, for let that be a surprise. Also, we plan to host a fireworks show during the mid-innings interval for Virat and the crowd. It will be our way of celebrating his birthday, and our way of saying that the entire Kolkata crowd are part of the celebrations. We are sure of a full house and everyone in the stands is a Virat fan. It is a gesture on behalf of all of them," the CAB president added.

The match is expected to be a full house at the Eden Gardens as India play their first ODI World Cup match in Kolkata since the notorious 1996 World Cup semifinal.

Kohli will be at the centre of focus on the day as the player will aim to continue his rich vein of form in the World Cup. The Delhi-born batter has so far scored 354 runs in the tournament with a century and 3 fifties to his name.
