Virat Kohli completed 12 years in Test cricket on Friday, June 20, 2023. The former India captain made his Test debut on June 20, 2011, against West Indies at Kingston.

Interestingly, the former India captain, who has played 109 Test matches and scored 8479 runs at an average of 48.72, is currently gearing up for India's tour of West Indies which will kick off with the first Test from July 12 in Dominica.

  • Kohli scored four off 10 balls in the first ball and was dismissed by Fidel Edwards. In the second innings, he scored 15 off 54 and was once again dismissed by Edwards. On both the occasions he was caught behind by wicket-keeper Carlton Baugh.
  • Virat Kohli's first Test match in India was also against West Indies at the Wankhede in Mumbai in November 2011. He scored 52 and 63 runs in the first and second innings respectively.
  • Kohli's first hundred came against Australia in Adelaide in January 2012. His last Test hundred (28th) also came against Australia in Ahmedabad in March this year.
