By MyKhel Staff

Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has praised Virat Kohli's passion, mindset, and never-give-up attitude, calling him a unique teammate and a leader by example.

Speaking about Kohli, Raina highlighted the qualities that make him a standout player on and off the field.

"His mindset is very different. He is, as I said, I think a good teammate to have in a dressing room, but he is always on the switch," Raina said on Star Sports.

According to him, Kohli is always ready to step up, whether it's during practice or in high-pressure moments. This constant focus and drive have been key to Kohli's success over the years. Raina also spoke about Kohli's passion for fielding, which often lifts the team's spirit.

"When he practices, he has a different preparation. When he does fielding, whenever the chips are down, he will be the first person to come and say, 'Let's fight, let's do fielding.' I really enjoyed fielding with him because his passion is different. When he is in the mood for fielding and diving, everyone's attitude changes," the former India player added.

Kohli's intensity and determination, Raina said, are deeply rooted in his North Indian background.

"Virat, he has the talent, and he is a little different in North India. When we come from there, we can't bear to lose. We don't know how to lose. We won't leave till we die. That's the kind of attitude he has," he concluded.

At the moment, Virat Kohli will have to be resilient as he takes part in the Ranji Trophy after years. The India stalwart is under pressure after an underwhelming series in Australia and will be toiling in domestic cricket for Delhi.

Kohli's form will be quintessential for the Indian team in the upcoming Champions Trophy as well. Team India shall also play a three-match ODI series against England before their ICC assignment.
