Rhituparno Pakhira, a devoted Virat Kohli fan from the small village of Kalapahad in West Bengal, made headlines after breaching security at Eden Gardens to meet his idol during the IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

While the act brought him momentary fame and a two-day stint in custody, Rhituparno's ultimate goal goes far beyond just meeting his cricketing hero - he dreams of stepping onto the field as a professional cricketer.

In an interview with OneIndia Bangla, Rhituparno expressed his lifelong admiration for Virat Kohli and his deep passion for the game. "I've been a fan of Kohli Sir for over six years. It was my dream to meet him and touch his feet. But my biggest dream is to play cricket at the highest level," he shared.

Growing up in a modest household, Rhituparno's love for cricket blossomed despite financial challenges. His father, Mahadev Pakhira, runs a small shop, and the family has limited means. Nevertheless, his parents have always supported his aspirations. Rhituparno trained at a local cricket academy in Jamalpur and occasionally practiced in Kolkata. However, he had to pause his training to focus on his higher secondary exams.

"Now that my exams are over, I want to return to my cricket practice. Meeting Kohli Sir has reignited my determination. I want to work hard, improve my game, and one day share the field with my idol," he said passionately.

Despite his controversial act at Eden Gardens, Rhituparno acknowledges his mistake. "I shouldn't have broken the rules. I urge all fans never to do something like this. There are proper ways to meet your heroes, and I hope to meet Kohli Sir again, this time as a fellow cricketer," he added.

His family remains supportive of his ambitions. His father expressed hope that Rhituparno's determination will help him overcome the financial hurdles. "We will do everything we can to ensure he gets the necessary training. Cricket is his passion, and we stand by him," said Mahadev Pakhira.

For Rhituparno, the dream is clear - to transform his admiration for Virat Kohli into a successful cricketing career. His journey is just beginning, and with dedication and perseverance, he aims to make his mark on the sport he loves.
