IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir have been fined 100 percent of their match fee for the ugly on-field altercation following the LSG versus RCB clash at the Ekana Stadium on Monday.
During the match, a chain of verbal exchanges saw Kohli and LSG's Naveen-ul-Haq getting into a heated argument during the 17th over of the Lucknow innings. Kohli was also seen saying something to Amit Mishra, who was batting alongside Naveen, with the on-field umpire trying to intervene.

Later after RCB's 18-run win, Kohli and Naveen again had a verbal spat during the ceremonial handshake between the players of the two sides. Soon after, Kohli and Gambhir came face-to-face with each other with players and support staff from both the sides trying to cool down the situation.
“Mr Gambhir admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct and has been fined 100 per cent of his match fee. Similarly, Mr Kohli admitted to the Level 2 offence under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct and has been fined 100 per cent of his match fee.
"Mr Naveen-ul-Haq, on the other hand, has been fined 50 per cent of his match fees for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore," IPL has said in a statement.
Kohli and LSG captain KL Rahul were also seen talking at length with each other after the episode. With the look of it, Kohli was understandably explaining to Rahul what transpired in the middle.
