Virat Kohli had just one good season in career, Babar Azam consistent: Ex-Pakistan cricketer's absurd comment

Ahead of the India versus Pakistan World Cup 2023 match, former cricketer Aaqib Javed has claimed that Virat Kohli is not as consistent as Babar Azam. He said that Virat Kohli is brilliant but in patches.

The former Pakistan pacer said that Pakistan will have a great chance of beating India in the October 14 match as India will be under pressure and management would find decision making difficult due to the larger than life image of their players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

He said the likes of Kohli and Rohit will be playing their last World Cup and that would add to the pressure on the Indian team.

"Many times you head into World Cup thinking this might be the last for a couple of players. This time I feel it is happening to India. When stars become larger than life, it becomes difficult for team management to make decisions. That is why, by looking and comparing all the departments, Pakistan have a very good chance this time," Aaqib Javed, in conversation with 'Events & Happenings Sports, said.

"How long is Rohit Sharma going to play? About Kohli, if you compare him with Babar, then he has one outstanding season and then there is a decline. He is a brilliant player but in patches. He is not as consistent as Babar. That is why I'm saying this is Pakistan's best chance to beat India again in a World Cup match," Javed added.

Kohli averages 48.72 in 13 matches against Pakistan. He has scored two hundred and two fifties each against the neighbours to pile up 536 ODI runs against them. When it comes to the T20I format, Kohli has scored 488 runs in 10 matches at a whopping average of 81.33 and a strike rate of 123.85.

There is no shortage of consistency there. The modern day great has piled up 12898 ODI runs at an average of 57.32 in his career spanning over 15 years now.
