Virat Kohli gets indirect warning from BCCI after sharing Yo-Yo Test score on social media

The Indian team will be heading out for the Asia Cup soon. And ahead of that, the players have assembled in Bengaluru for a training camp.

Before their departure to Sri Lanka, all the Indian players have been going through training and they were tasked with a Yo-Yo Test on Thursday. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and others took the test and then subsequently Kohli posted his Yo-Yo Test score on social media.

The players including Kohli, Rohit, Mohammed Shami and others were given a 13-day training programme ahead of the Asia Cup to keep themselves fit and injury-free. All of the players who were not part of the Ireland squad underwent or will undergo full body test.

Kohli posted a picture of himself on Thursday after the Test and revealed the score on his Instagram profile.

"The happiness of finishing the Yo Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 done," the former India captain wrote in his Instagram story caption.

But that bit of act hasn't gone well with BCCI as the apex body of Indian cricket has subsequently warned the players not to share the scores on any social media platform. It is understood that the communication from BCCI was verbal with the players.

"Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause," a BCCI official was quoted as saying by The Indian Express on Friday (August 25).

The warning has come from BCCI as sharing score of Yo-Yo Test can raise certain issues, which can be a breach of contract from a player's side.

The Indian team will be flying to Sri Lanka for the Asia Cup campaign, which starts on August 30 as Pakistan lock horns against Nepal in the first match.

The hybrid form of the tournament will see a few matches taking place in Pakistan while the other matches will be played in Sri Lanka. The Indian team start their campaign against Pakistan in Pallekele on September 2.
