A massive relief for team India as Virat Kohli has been declared fit to play in the second ODI against England in Cuttack on Sunday, following his absence in the first match due to a knee injury.
India's batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, confirmed Kohli's availability, stating, "Kohli is fit, yes, he is practising with us today. He is good to go."

In Kohli's absence during the first ODI, Yashasvi Jaiswal made his debut, opening the innings alongside captain Rohit Sharma. Shubman Gill, who typically opens, was slotted into the No. 4 position and top-scored with 87 runs. Also Shreyas Iyer, who was not supposed to play the match, scored a fantastic half-century in the match.
With Kohli regaining fitness, the Indian team management will have a headache in hand. Gautam Gambhir and his staff will have to pick one player to sit out if they are to accommodate the India stalwart in the side.
With Kohli's return, it's anticipated that he will reclaim his customary No. 3 spot. This would likely result in Shubman Gill moving back to his preferred opening position alongside Rohit Sharma. Consequently, Yashasvi Jaiswal might be the one to make way for Kohli in the playing XI. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer may also have to sit out, and in that case, Kohli may be handed the opportunity at no. 4.
If Virat Kohli plays in Cuttack, the India stalwart will have an opportunity to enlist his name in an elite list. Kohli is just 94 runs away from scoring 14,000 ODI runs, which will make him only the 3rd player in history to reach the club - along with Sachin Tendulkar and Kumar Sangakkara.
