Punjab Kings' all-rounder Suryansh Shedge is known for his destructive batting, as he looks to showcase his talent in the IPL 2026.
A right-handed batting all-rounder who bowls right-arm medium pace for Mumbai in domestic cricket, he is known for his explosive finishing ability, clean hitting, and handy contributions with the ball. During an exclusive chat with MyKhel, Suryansh revealed two players whom he idolizes in cricket.

Shedge rose through Mumbai's domestic ranks, making his first-class debut in the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy, where he scored a notable 99 against Tripura. His breakthrough came in the 2024-25 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), where he played a pivotal role in Mumbai's title win.
He delivered match-winning cameos like 30* off 8 balls against Andhra, 36* off 12 against Vidarbha, and 36* off 15 in the final against Madhya Pradesh. Overall, he amassed 131 runs at a blistering strike rate of 251.92 while claiming 8 wickets.
His T20 exploits earned him a spot in the IPL, with Punjab Kings acquiring him for his base price of INR 30 lakh ahead of the 2025 season. He made his IPL debut against Gujarat Titans. In his inaugural IPL season, he scored 7 runs and bowled sparingly without wickets, serving as a promising finisher and lower-order option under captain Shreyas Iyer.
Admiring Virat Kohli as his idol, Shedge overcame setbacks like a 2023 stress fracture to establish himself as a high-potential talent.
During an exclusive interview with MyKhel, the Punjab Kings player revealed Kohli as his cricketing idol along with England's Ben Stokes.
"I think my idols will be Virat Bhaiya (Virat Kohli) and Ben Stokes. These are two individuals whom I really respect."
Shedge hailed Kohli for his match-winning abilities, while he admires the skillset Ben Stokes possesses as a cricketer, often being the driving force for England.
"Kohli is a match-winner for my own country. He has won so many matches for India. And I think the kind of attitude and the kind of character he brings to the field, the way he conducts himself, his discipline, I think it's commendable.
Secondly, Ben Stokes, because he has a similar skill set. Plus, the heart he has. I think he just wants to go out there and give his everything. He doesn't care about anything else. Whatever he gets, he tries to make the best out of it. Whatever major victories England have had, he has contributed to them. That's why I respect him a lot. And he is a match-winner. His attitude, ability to come back from any situation, Hats Off."
