Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has ushered huge praises on team India stalwart Virat Kohli.
The Indian team will take on England in a limited-overs series, which starts with a three-match T20I affair in Kolkata on Wednesday (January 22).

Ahead of the match, Ganguly attended at an event hosted by the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and spoke about Kohli at length, signifying his importance in the Indian team.
Virat Kohli has been under fire for his lack of performances in the recent times. After a superb start to the BGT series in Australia with a hundred in Perth, Kohli failed to keep the momentum and was largely underwhelming for the remainder. And Ganguly says Kohli's class is unmatched, but was surprised that the India batter couldn't capitalize his magnificent start to the series.
"I think Virat Kohli, for the men's cricket, is a once-in-a-lifetime player. To score 80 international 100s in a career is something unbelievable. For me, he's probably the greatest white-ball player the world has seen. But I was really surprised the way he batted after getting a 100 in Perth. He struggled before that here, but I thought after the 100 in Perth, it'll be a big series for him," Ganguly said.
But the former BCCI president promptly conceded the fact that a player will have his shortcomings in his career.
"But I think it happens. Every player has his weakness and strengths. There's no player in the world who will not have that," he added.
Speaking about India captain Rohit Sharma and India's prospects in the upcoming Champions Trophy, Ganguly says Rohit will be a different beast in the white ball series.
"Rohit Sharma in white-ball cricket is phenomenal. And you will see a different Rohit Sharma once the Champions Trophy starts. And as I said, they will be one of the contenders for the tournament," Ganguly continued.
