Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah In SA20? Allan Donald Feels India Stars Will Take T20 League To Another Level

Indian cricket superstars, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah are two of the biggest names in world cricket presently and have even successfully established themselves as two of finest players of the current generation.

Be it any format, both rule the roost quite dominatingly. When it comes to the T20 format, both led India to a T20 World Cup victory in 2024 and have proven records and demand from global T20 teams as well.

But Indian players are not allowed by the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) to ply trade in other leagues. But what if the Indian players do get the permit and are allowed to play in foreign leagues?

myKhel caught up with South African legend, Allan Donald during a SA20 media interaction with select journalists and asked him which two Indians- bowler or a batter, he would love to see in the South African league.

On hearing the question, Donald found himself in bit of a spot as he was in a big dilemma to decide initially. But later on he went with Virat and Bumrah.

As per the legendary pacer, these two Indian powerhouses will take the league to an all different level and it would be the most 'special' thing ever.

"Oh my gosh, where do I start? Where do I start getting a player from there? My goodness me, jeez. If I'm a batter, I'm Virat Kohli all over there. If it's a bowler, 100 percent Bumrah. 100 percent. My goodness me, can you imagine that? Can you actually imagine some Indian players-or if you're allowed to pick one? Oh my, that would be the most special thing. That'll just put it to another level. That'll add another level of how big this tournament can become if you're allowed to'', he told.

''Imagine two per team. But we'll keep it there at one. I'll have those two players for me-Kohli and Bumrah. If I have to pick from a batter or a bowler-100 percent sure'', the 58-year-old further added.

BCCI has this policy of safeguarding their players and want them to play in IPL only and specially those under a BCCI contract. Even domestic regulars are also included as it would block their way of returning back to the Indian Premier League. Only when someone retire from international cricket and also from the IPL, then they are allowed to compete.
