The International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman, Jay Shah, has introduced a new awareness campaign titled 'Donate Organs, Save Lives' during the third ODI between India and England, scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
Shah took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to make the announcement, encouraging people to consider organ donation for the benefit of those in need.

''On the occasion of the 3rd ODI between India and England in Ahmedabad on February 12th, we are proud to launch an awareness initiative - "Donate Organs, Save Lives." Sport has the power to inspire, unite, and create lasting impact beyond the field. Through this initiative, we urge everyone to take a step towards giving the greatest gift of all - the gift of life. One pledge, one decision, can save multiple lives. Let's come together and make a difference!'', Shah wrote on X.
Following his post, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) amplified the message by sharing a video featuring Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and the rest of the Indian squad, further promoting the noble initiative.
Meanwhile, the Men in Blue have already sealed the three-match ODI series after claiming a four-wicket victory in the second encounter at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. The match saw Indian captain Rohit Sharma roar back to form with a stunning 119 off 90 balls, while Shubman Gill (60), Shreyas Iyer (44), and Axar Patel (41) played valuable supporting roles in the chase.
On the bowling front, Ravindra Jadeja continued his fine run, finishing as India's standout performer with 3/35 in the first innings. This marked his second consecutive three-wicket haul, underlining his good rhythm ahead of the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
With the series already won, the Indian team management may look to rotate the squad in the third ODI, giving bench players crucial game time before the Champions Trophy. The tournament will see India play all their matches, including the knockout stages, in Dubai, while other games not involving India will take place in Pakistan.
As the cricketing world gears up for another major ICC event, India's preparation and player form will be closely monitored.
