Virat Kohli has spilt some dressing room secrets of the Indian cricket team in a recent interview with popular host Gaurav Kapoor.
Kohli, who has been a stalwart for the Indian cricket team, opened up on the differences between the past and present, and talked about the non-existence of social media and fan clubs, while also revealing a bromance in the Indian cricket team.

Kohli spoke about the yesteryears when there were no such social media or player-specific fan clubs for players. He said the young players had to rely on their skills and perform. Also, a lack of exposure meant they got fewer chances compared to the present day.
"During our time, we knew that we had only 4-5 matches to prove ourselves. At that time, a fan club didn't exist. This social media stuff was non-existent. You were only and only dependent on your skill. That is how we have grown up. If I do not perform, no one is going to keep me there just because my supporters feel I am a good player, or there can be a narrative in the public or in the media," Kohli said during the event.
The India stalwart then also revealed the friendship between two Indian players, whom he affectionately mentioned as the Sita-Gita of the Indian cricket team. It's none other than Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, who have a great bond.
"Sita-Gita, Ishan aur Shubman. Pata nahi kya chakkar hai, mai bol nahi sakta zyada cheezein lekin... Dono bohot acche dost hain. Basically, voh akele nahi reh sakte hain tour pe. Khana khane bulao, saath me ayenge, baat karne bulalo saath me hi ayenge. Kabhi maine dekha nahi woh akele ho. Lekin genuinely, bohot acche dost hain.
(Sita and Gita, Ishan and Shubman. Don't know what is going on. Can't say much but these guys can't stay alone during tours. When we go out for food, they will come together. During discussions, they will always come together. I haven't seen them alone. They are great friends)," Kohli added.
Both Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill have started in sublime fashion in the IPL. Kishan scored a brilliant 69 off just 34 balls for Mumbai Indians in their most recent IPL 2024 match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Shubman, on the other hand, is leading Gujarat Titans adeptly after Hardik Pandya's departure.
