Nepal continued their historic journey in their first-ever Asia Cup. Although they lost both the matches, the associate nation have plenty to take from their first outing in the senior men's continental event.
Rohit Paudel's side lost to Pakistan in their Asia Cup 2023 opener on August 30, and suffered a defeat to India on Monday (September 4). However, many of their players made most of their chance of meeting some top international cricketers.

Following the 10-wicket defeat to India in a rain-hit match at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, Nepal players were seen interacting with top Indian cricketers.
Sompal Kami was one of those delighted stars as the Nepal star met Indian superstar Virat Kohli, who shared a heartwarming gesture by signing the boots and posing with Sompal for a photo, which was later shared on social media with the caption: "Virat Kohli is not just a cricketer, he's an emotion."
While Sompal shared the dream come true moment on social media, many of his compatriots were also thrilled to meet the Indian cricketers. Nepal captain Rohit Paudel revealed that his team talked with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and batter Virat Kohli which was a useful conversation.
In the post-match press conference, Nepal captain said, "We talked with Rohit and Virat and they gave lots of experience to us and this will be very useful for us."
Paudel also said that he was satisfied with the performance of his team, however, he thought that 260-270 would have been a better score.
"Overall I am happy with the performance of the boys especially with the bat. I think the openers did a very good job. In the middle order, we could have done better. I thought somewhere around 260-270 would have been a good score. If you talk overall, I am happy with the performance."
Indian openers batted till the end and one other Indian batter got the opportunity to bat. Paudel was a little disappointed that they did not get the opportunity to ball against Virat, "We did not get the opportunity to ball against Virat as both openers batted till last."
Earlier at the toss, the Nepal captain had said playing India is the biggest moment, "Today is the biggest day for Nepal cricket. Great opportunity for us."
