Aamir, who was handed a 5-year ban and also served jail term for his involvement in spot-fixing during a Test match in 2010 in England, made a comeback to the national team recently, in New Zealand. However, he had a tough time from the fans as he was booed.

The 23-year-old Aamir is now set to play in Asia Cup in Bangladesh. The left-arm quick is also part of the World T20 team.

When Kohli was asked about Aamir, the Indian praised him for accepting his mistake and showing "courage".

"Happy to see Aamir playing. He accepted his mistake. He played in New Zealand. He is a world-class (bowler). If he had played in the last 5 years he would have been among world's top 3. He has lot of skills as a bowler.

"He is a very good bowler. He has a lot of talent, has got pace, bounce a very good yorker. I wish him all the best. He has worked hard to make a comeback and it takes courage to do what he did," Kohli told reporters on Tuesday.

Kohli and Aamir will come face to face on Saturday (February 27) when India and Pakistan play in the Asia Cup.
