Virat Kohli, the third highest run-getter in One Day Internationals, is the go to man for Team India when it comes to chases in ODIs as the star batter holds one of the best numbers in run-chases, earning himself the tag of the 'Chase-master'.
Kohli recently became the fastest to reach 14000 runs in ODIs and also joined legendary Sachin Tendulkar and former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara in the elusive club. The Indian batter has been on a record-breaking spree in recent years.

The 36-year-old seasoned batter also holds the record for most centuries in the 50-over game with 51 hundreds. Among his 51 hundreds, 31 tons have come in run chases. His record-breaking 50th hundred came against New Zealand in the ODI World Cup 2023.
In over 300 ODI appearances, Kohli has amassed nearly 14200 runs, including 51 centuries and 74 half centuries in the format. Sri Lanka, Australia, West Indies and New Zealand are some of his favourite opponents.
Speaking of New Zealand, Kohli has a liking for the Black Caps at least in the ODI format, scoring over 1500 runs in his 31 appearances against the Kiwis. While New Zealand have often broken Indian hearts, Kohli has been among the runs against the Black Caps in the 50-over game.
In 32 ODI matches against New Zealand, Kohli has scored a total of 1656 runs, including 6 hundreds and 9 fifties, at an average of 57.40. His best score against the Kiwis is 154 not out, which he registered in one of the famed run-chases in 2016 at Mohali.
The right-handed batter scored a century in his second ODI appearance against New Zealand. After his maiden century against the Kiwis, Kohli registered two fifties before a couple of single digit scores followed by another hundred and fifty scores.
In ICC ODI events, Kohli has scored one century and one fifty with a total of 213 runs in three innings. His only failure came when India were knocked out by the Black Caps in the 2019 World Cup in the semi-final stage. Here is a look at his complete stats followed by last 5 inning vs NZ:
