Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, star Indian cricketers have been named among the probables for Delhi's squad in the upcoming round of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25.
However, as of Tuesday, January 14, as per reports that the selectors have yet to approach Kohli, and the batter has not indicated his willingness to participate.

Notably, Kohli's last appearance in the Ranji Trophy dates back to 2012, while Pant last featured in the prestigious first-class competition in 2017.
The Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) included their names under the 'International Players' category in the official list of probables, following 38 state players. However, the association clarified that their final inclusion would depend on their availability.
Delhi have two remaining fixtures in the current Ranji Trophy season. They will face Saurashtra in their opening match of the second leg, beginning on January 23, followed by their final group-stage encounter against Railways, starting on January 30. If Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant choose to feature in the competition, they are expected to play in the Saurashtra match before linking up with the Indian ODI squad for the three-match series against England.
The announcement also instructed both Virat and Pant to undergo a fitness test on January 10, though it remains uncertain whether the three international cricketers participated. Earlier that day, captain Rohit Sharma was spotted training with the Mumbai Ranji Trophy squad. However, it is still unknown if he will take part in the red-ball competition, as he has not played in it since the 2015-16 season.
