And upon returning to the country, he has continued his self-screening, which was evident during Team India's meet-up with PM Narendra Modi. The Indian team reached New Delhi in the early morning of Thursday and subsequently had a meeting with Narendra Modi. The entire team was present and spoke with the PM.

Virat Kohli spoke and it was a pretty shocking one. The Indian player opened up on his performance and admitted how arrogance can lead to downfall of a player. The player spoke about controlling his own pride for the greater need and said it paid dividends to him. The admission was regarding his batting form in the T20 World Cup and how he emerged from the lean patch.

"Whatever I was trying to do, it was not happening. When things don't happen but you keep forcing yourself that you can, sometimes the arrogance becomes dominant and takes your game further away. So, leaving that was important. Also, the situation was the match was such that I had to keep away my pride for the team. And when I respected the game, it gave me respect on that day. That's what I experienced," Kohli said in a shocking confession.

Kohli, one of the greatest to ever grace the game, had the guts to admit it, which is a monumental thing and speaks volumes about the character. The 35-year-old also announced his retirement from the T20I format on the day of the final but will continue representing India in ODIs and Tests.
