WTC Final: With the World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia knocking at the door, players from both the teams are sweating out hard on the field to play a pivotal role in taking their team to glory.
India and Australia are teams full of superstars. However, none of them is as big as Virat Kohli, the former India all-format captain who is now solely focussing on his batting. The 34-year-old batter has found his lost rhythm in the nine months. Runs are once again flowing from his bat.

Since September 2022, Kohli has smashed five hundreds - Three in ODIs, one in T20I and one in Test. He took a total of 1021 days to hit his 71st international hundred in a T20I match against Afghanistan in September.
His hundred in the fourth and the last Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in March was first in the format in 1205 days. The right-hander has himself admitted that he feels that he is back to his best. The timing of his return could not be more perfect.
As India look to end their ICC title drought, Kohli is expected to play a massive role. He has always brought his A-game against Australia who make special arrangements to tackle the threats from the former world number one batter.
There are no dearth of personal milestones for Kohli, already a modern day greats but big ICC trophies continue to elude him. A second opportunity to become a member of the WTC title-winning team is there to grab for Kohli. The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is to be held in India in October-November. T20 World Cup 2024 is also something which Kohli would have his eyes set on.
But first things first - the WTC 2023 final should be the one getting Kohli's utmost attention first. Widely considered as the best Test captain of India, Kohli firing India to WTC 2023 final win, will be a poetic justice in itself.
His numbers in the WTC 2023-23 are not overwhelming but despite his so-called 'lean patch' it's better than many. He is the second best India batter in terms of runs scored. Have a look.
