Virat Kohli in all probability will be dropped from India's T20 World squad, a Telegraph report has revealed. A staggering performance in the IPL 2024 can only help Virat Kohli's cause to feature in his last T20 World Cup for India.
The report has revealed that the BCCI officials have left it on the selection panel led by Ajit Agarkar. The selectors are unsure about Virat Kohli's style of play, and believe that the former India batter might find it difficult to deliver as per the team's need on the slow pitches of the West Indies and the USA.

Sources told The Telegraph that the national selectors and the team management are ready to take some harsh decisions ahead of the ICC marquee event which starts from June 1. Notably, India haven't won an ICC trophy since 2013, and lost the 2023 World Cup final against India.
The management is now mulling to give opportunity to the youngsters like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, and Shivam Dube. Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav have also recovered from their injuries and are set to make comeback.
Earlier, Jay Shah confirmed that Rohit Sharma would lead the Indian team at the T20 World Cup 2024 but remained silent on Kohli. “We will discuss Virat’s role in due course,” Shah said.
Agarkar would be the one having the final conversation with Kohli as not many are willing to get involved in the "very delicate matter" as per the Telegraph source.
Further, Ajit Agarkar is learnt to have spoken to the RCB star about a much-needed change in his approach to cater to the demands of the T20I format. Kohli responded positively during India's 3-match T20I series against Afghanistan and displayed an aggressive approach. He scored 29 off 16 in the first match, and got out for a duck in the second.
