Virat Kohli's class act for Rishabh Pant: Batter leaves personal net session to watch Rishabh Pant's hundred

By MyKhel Staff

Virat Kohli's class act for comeback Rishabh Pant won hearts on Day 3 of the ongoing first Test between India and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Rishabh pant, who took 88 balls to complete his fifty, reached his sixth Test hundred in the next 36 deliveries to entertain thousands present in the stadium, and millions across the world.

The 26-year-old was playing his first Test match since his near-fatal car accident in December 2022. Pant has shined the most in the longest format of the game, and fans therefore were eagerly waiting to watch him bat in the first Test against Bangladesh at Chepauk.

Pant got out for 39 in the first innings in a bizarre fashion in the first innings, but made up for it with a hundred which helped him equal MS Dhoni's tally for most Test hundred by an India wicketkeeper-batter in Test cricket.

Not only the fans, but also the teammates of Rishabh Pant were elated to watch the southpaw make a sensational Test comeback. While Shubman Gill hugged him in the middle and others cheered for him in the dressing room, Virat Kohli took a break from his net session to watch Pant complete his breezy 124-ball hundred.

Virat Kohli, who scored six and 17 across the two innings of the Test, was seen standing near the boundary rope with his helmet on, and gloves in his hand, to cheer for the fellow Delhi batter. He was seen smiling as he called for the youngster.

Pant was caught and bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz as he looked to continue the onslaught. His fourth-wicket partnership with Gill accounted for 167 runs, and helped India set a 515-run target for the visitors. India have more than two days to bowl out Bangladesh and take a 1-0 lead.
