Virat Kohli's opening spot in danger? RCB star hits blazing hundred vs Comilla Victorians in BPL 2024

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Will Jacks smashed a cracking hundred in match 29 of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) while batting for Comilla Victorians against Chattogram Challengers at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram on Tuesday, February 13.

The 25-year-old England cricketer smashed five fours and as many as 10 sixes en route to his 108 not out off 53 balls. The whirlwind knock fired Comilla Victorians to 239/3 at the end of 20 overs.

Will Jacks later picked five catches and helped his team bundle out Chattogram Challengers for 166 runs in 16.3 overs and win the match by 73 runs. He is the first cricketer to score a hundred and pick five catches in a single T20 game. Comilla Victorians are now tied with table toppers Rangpur Riders at 12 points each.

IPL fans, especially those supporting RCB set social media on fire following the blazing knock from Jacks who also holds the record for highest individual score in the Men's The Hundred. He is also only one of the three batters to hit a hundred in the 100-ball competition

Aakash Chopra also heaped rich praises on Jacks after his knock. "I’d be very surprised if RCB doesn’t find a place for Will Jacks in the playing XI this IPL. In Red hot form. Can also bowl offies…even with the new ball," he wrote on X.

Many called him the future of RCB and England cricket. The youngster has majorly played as a opener throughout his career, and it would be interesting to see if he gets the same role at the RCB.

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis have opened for RCB in the last couple of sessions, and tinkering with the successful pair will be a big move from RCB.

The England international, who was bought by RCB for Rs 3.2 crore ahead of the IPL 2023, has featured in a total of 156 T20 matches and scored 4112 runs at an average of 29.79 and a strike rate of 158.58. He has three hundreds and 30 fifties to his name in the format.
