Virender Sehwag lays stress on spoken English

New Delhi, June 3: Indian opener Virender Sehwag today appealed to the youngsters to focus on their studies as well, particularly on spoken English as, he said it would help them in getting better jobs if they don't turn into good cricketers.

Sehwag in his initial days of international cricket faced a lot of difficulties in speaking English while he interacted with the anchor person after winning Man-of-the-Match award. But lately he practiced quite a bit and is now able to speak fluent English though making some grave grammatical mistakes here and there.

Sehwag comes from a rural background and quit his studies after intermediate classes.

Sehwag was interacting with forty winners of a scratch-and-win contest organized by a soft drink company and a leading fast food chain.

Replying to a question from a youngster as to how he could become a cricketer like him, Sehwag said, "You must have a passion for the game and work hard. At the same time don't loose on your studies, particularly spoken English because it will help you in getting better jobs in case you don't turn into a good cricketer."

He spoke on other wide ranging issues like he finds his wife Arti more beautiful if compared to any of the film star and his mom cooks better food than his wife. He also said that he gets very less time to spend with family and fans as he is always involved in his cricketing commitments. By Pankaj Yadav
