New Delhi, Dec 29: Virender Sehwag scored a century today for Delhi against Gujarat on the second day of their Ranji Trophy match at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
Sehwag, who could not find a place in India's 30-man World Cup squad, struck a 148-ball 105 with 14 fours on his home ground. This was his 40th hundred in first-class cricket.
The 36-year-old right-hander batted at number three for Delhi. He had scored 9 and 64 in his previous two matches but today turned it around with a three-figure knock.
Sehwag has been out of national reckoning for more than one and half years. His chances of making a comeback are almost over as youngsters are doing well for the team.
Monday was a good day for India discards as Yuvraj Singh too scored a century for Punjab against Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy. This was Yuvraj's 3rd successive hundred.
