Wahab Riaz calls for amicable solution between India and Pakistan

Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz has called for an amicable resolution for the ongoing cold war between India and Pakistan regarding playing in each other's soils.

India and Pakistan have been at odds politically, and the effect has ravaged the sports relationships as well. The two cricketing giants and rivals haven't played a bilateral series since 2013, wtih India last visiting Pakistan in 2006.

BCCI and PCB are amidst war of words regarding participation in the upcoming Asia Cup and ICC ODI World Cup. BCCI announced they won't send the team to play in Pakistan for the Asia Cup citing security reasons. A hybrid model of Asia Cup has also been rejected.

PCB, in return, said if India don't come to Pakistan, they may withdraw from the ODI World Cup, which is scheduled in India later this year. Although they have lowered their guard on that, the issue of Asia Cup still persists and the rigidity of both boards has jeopardized the fate of the tournament.

Amidst this, Wahab Riaz, who also acts as an advisor on Sports for the Punjab Province in Pakistan, addressed the media on Tuesday and gave his thoughts on the ongoing feud.

Riaz said the hybrid model is a viable option and will eventually benefit both parties. He also said that political differences mustn't take a toll on sports and emphasized that both teams should play in each other's countries.
